When One Door Closes; Another Door Opens (WHILAL pt.1)

Dear readers,

Here is the realization of my WHILAL idea.. Read the post I posted earlier for the introduction..

When One Door Closes; Another Door Opens

How may of y'all have heard about it? I bet y'all have heard this wise words many many times, maybe tens or even hundreds!
You will hear this wise words after having a bad time, failure, or heart breaking condition that you have to face. Most people will react by telling you this cliche right?
Your reaction will be: "Well, it is easier saying it than experiencing what I have." It might be true, but I found that this cliche is true.

After graduating from junior high school, I really really wanted to continue my study at SMA Taruna. Some of y'all will think that it is surprising knowing my style and behavior, but it is true! (p.s. SMA Taruna is a very good high school with a military style of teaching and discipline) Unfortunately, I could not get in with the scholarship, and it was impossible for me to pay for the school because it was just too expensive. One door just closed. But another door opens! I was accepted at Sampoerna Academy, the place where I had best years in my life. If I was accepted at SMA Taruna, I might not be studying at Texas Tech right now. I might not go to UK and Japan during my high school years. One door closes; another door opens.

At the end of my first year in high school, there was a competition to select two students from my school to go to New Zealand for a month. I applied for it and got into last part of selection. Unfortunately, I was not selected. I thought that my only chance to go overseas just gone. One door just closed. One month after the New Zealand selection, there was a competition held my British Council to select two students from Indonesia to go to U.K. I thought that might be impossible for me to get in, but my mentor said that nothing to lose if I try. A miracle happened, and I was selected to represent my country to U.K! I was so excited. One door closes; another door opens.

In my junior year in high school, I have failed in so many mathematics Olympiads. I have studied so much, but there are many students that are way smarter than me in mathematics. I had no idea what can I do well outside of math. One door closes. Then I started to learn how to make a good English writing. Another miracle happens. I won several English writing national competitions, my writing made me be able to go to Japan, I also won US$3,000 because of my writing. Isn't it just amazing? One door closes; another door opens.

What I would like y'all to learn from my experience is to never be discouraged and always open to learn new things. Failure is common in life, no one is successful in everything they did. I am pretty sure that if you keep working hard, you will find a way to succeed! And way to succeed is not only one, dare to try many new things throughout your life.

I wish you found this little bit inspiring. When one door closes; another door opens.

Leave comments below, I would love to hear feedback from y'all!
See you in next post!
